This barn holds a lot of memories for me. The many corn cob fights we had every year. We would choose side, one side in the hay loft and the other side in the bottom of the barn and try to run the other side out. We played in the creek that runs by the barn. Maybe I shouldn't tell this on Jack R. Cyrus but, I will. One homecoming we caught minnows and Jack ate them alive and said they taste like cornbread. The barn looks the same to me as it did in 1974 when my uncle Roy wrote the poem.

You are not the only grandchild to have such wonderful memories. I can remember Jack and Scott riding the young steers in the bigger stall.Uncle Jeff didn't know.
