If anyone is interested in a project. The Hardin family has played a role in the history of Wayne County. Many descendants are in the area and many families are connected.

From what I understand three brothers John, Green and Moses Hardin came from North Carolina to Tennessee in the mid to late 1700's.

Amos Hardin born 18 Dec 1802 TN and died 14 Feb 1880 on Eagle Creek. He married Rhoda Elliot. His father was Gibson Hardin.

Lewis Hardin born 13 Jan 1798 in NC died 17 Sep 1857 married Margaret Harper. He died near Waynesboro.

I believe these two people have some common ancestor but I have yet to find the connection. There seems to be many more descendants of Lewis than Amos.

If anyone is interested, I can send what I have on either or both families.

MY cousin Dan Helton recently did extensive research on Hardin. Will ask him if he
wants to share.

How do I tell him to become a part of this group?

Jerry, If you run across a Hardin that married a Skelton (probably in Perry County), could you please let me know. I just need to know his name. Thanks, Joyce T.
