All of these people were from around the Moccasin/Topsy area I think?
All of the ladies are my aunts, Roland Skelton was the son of Amos
A. and Ada Blackwell Skelton. Can one of you Luna researchers tell
me which one is 'Boots'? I think that he is the tall one, but don't know.
I had never heard of Martin Inman, but my aunt says that he was one
of this group that were all friends. Joyce T.

You are right Joyce. Boots is the tall man. He and uncle Rod looked a lot alike. When I first saw this photo before reading names, I thought it was Rod. Alva

Alva, Don Stone had posted it on Cane Creek, and he said that the
names were on the back, but some of the names were misspelled.
I'm sure that I knew 'Boots' when I was young. Is he Willard's
father? If he is, they lived in the same house that my dad lated
bought. I had a crush on Willard when we were going to the one-
room school. on Moccasin. I was surprised a few years ago
when my sister and I had gone out to eat in Waynesboro, and she
was talking to different people, and she ask if I knew who the man
was that she had spoken to. I didn't, but it was Willard and some
of his family. He had gotten older too, and I would never have known
him! Thanks, Joyce T.

There is a Hurshel G. Luna 1907 - 1936 that is in the Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrence County. Sorry but the obits for 1936 in Lawrence County I do not have that book (yet) or I'd print his obit for you. I can look it up the next time I'm at the archives if this is the right person. I have lots of books for Lawrence County if there is anything I can look up for anyone just let me know.

Alva, Carl was md. to my dad's sister Stella Irene Skelton, and I knew
Ernest, Thomas & Cletus and I also know that they have two children
that died young. One of them was named Kenneth, and I can't
remember the little girls name right now. My aunt had told me just
a few weeks ago, because they are buried at Skelton Cemetery
without a stone. I wish that my memory was better!! lol, Thomas
looked a lot like my dad the last time that I saw him.
I remember that Willard died very suddenly, because my aunt also
told me about that. I remember Edward also, but I don't remember
Delbert and Katherine very well. Thanks, Joyce T.

Thanks Joyce and Barbara. Willard died of a heart attack, I think. He had been in bad health for sometime. Delbert and Katherine wer younger than me. I can post a photo they have in the school year boo, 1959 if anyone wants. Barbara, don't go to any trouble to get the obit. If you run across it that would be great. alva

    Joyce, Hi
I am just now seeing this and I am not positively sure about your aunts, Gertie and Ruth...But I do know for certain that the 2nd guy from the left is Herman Leo Inman- June 08, 1913-
October 04, 1992; son of Laz Albert and Ethel Sharp Inman, Married Irene V. Simmons-July 24, 1921- May 01, 2005, daug of; Jacob & Ila Westbrooks Simmons. He, as well as your two aunts, is my first cousin. I do not know any of the others.

I THINK that Gertie & Ruth are the first 2nd & 3rd females in the photo; standing close together, am I right and which is which?
Thanks, Anne

Anne, I wasn't sure which one was Herman Inman, but now I think
that I can tell you how they line up: L-R- Boots Luna, Herman Inman,
Ruth E. Whitehead (Carroll), Roland Skelton, Annie Gertrude
Whitehead (Frazier), Jennie L. Skelton (Meredith), Lynn Mathis,
Edna L. Skelton (Mathis). I found out recently that Herman Inman
and my Aunt Ruth Whitehead (Carroll) dated for a while! I think that
this picture may have been taken about the time that Lynn Mathis
md. Edna Skelton, which was in the early 40's (I think!). Gertie was
a teenager I believe! Joyce T.

Hi Janice, I'm glad to see you on the site. My parents were md. in Dec. 1937, and my mother wasn't in this picture with her 2 sisters,
and her 2 sisters-in-laws. My mothers younger sister was the one that told me that they were all friends, and my Aunt Ruth md. in
1938 or1939 I believe. Thank you for confirming which one was your dad. Joyce T.

Hi Mike, Are you still working? I am glad to see you on the site too. I
know that your mom had a lot of pictures, so if you find some good ones
of the Whiteheads, Skeltons, or Wilsons, I would enjoy seeing them.
Did she have any old photos? Glad to see you, Joyce T.
