Family -
Today, Thursday, March 6, 2014, we are remembering the birthday of our dear Uncle Lindsey, born this day on March 6, 1895, 119 years ago. He entered the Gates of Heaven on November 25, 1975 at the age of 80.
Uncle Lindsey was the 'Patriarch' of our Cyrus Family & the 'headliner' at our gathering up on 'The Hill' on our Homecoming/Memorial Day celebration. His preaching, his beautiful singing of the song 'I Want My Loved Ones To Go With Me' will be precious memories for our lifetime.
Uncle Lindsey was a wonderful Father, Grandfather, Uncle, husband to Aunt Adeline & preacher to so many. We should also remember two of Uncle Lindsey's Granddaughters who were born on his birthday & both Nancy's Rheada Jane McKinzie Webb & Lindsey Jr.'s Karen Sue Stafford both left this world much too soon. Also, a Greatgrandson, Sara's Grandson, Michael Cyrus Wilson, was also born on his birthday.
So very loved, so very missed.....Much love to all of Uncle Lindsey's family on this day of remembering a Special Man, our Beloved Uncle Lindsey.

Linda, my life is so full these days as I was attending a conference on the 6th! However, I did take time to have my own little prayer remembering Papaw. He was a huge part of my life, I never felt like I was an only child. I had a dozen cousins, many aunts and uncles that all adored Papaw. As a little girl I would often, go with him to visit the sick, in the hospitals. I remember vividly when the nurses or Doctors saw Papaw approaching they would breath a sigh of relief and reach out to shake his hand. Always saying 'Thank You Brother Cyrus for coming'. Naturally when I saw their smiles I felt they were happy to see me too! Naive as that may seem, I may have been 5 or 6 but that feeling of being loved and appreciated has never left me.
